Motueka Farm

The original family farm located on the edge of Motueka township was established in the year 1900.

It now has 30ha under hop canopy and sits upon a sandy silt loam, 200m from the Motueka river. Fortunate enough to have one of the best aquafers in New Zealand with ground water at 7m deep, allowing this farm to be fully irrigated.

This farm prides itself in diversity which includes 1ha of Gold Kiwifruit which is harvested in April each year. A 2000m2 glasshouse for hop propagation, plant nursey propagation and a small amount of vegetable production.

Our hop harvest spans the month of March. 1963 was the original installation of our Bruff picking machine which has seen many upgrades and has now been hybridised.

We have seven fixed bed drying floors which are heated by a pellet fired boiler radiating hot water through a closed system.

(note, there have been many changes since then)

Moutere Farm

Located 12 minutes from the Motueka Farm in Upper Moutere, the Moutere farm was established in 2017 and is approximately 85ha under canopy, and a further 50ha cropping and grazing land.

Vastly different from the Motueka Farm soil profile, this Farm sits upon Moutere Clay which was specifically sought out for its soil properties.

This farm is irrigated via two water storage dams and a deep well.

The Moutere farm has two Wolf 1000 front end harvesters with DK FAB cleaning line.

We have nine fixed bed drying floors which are heated be a highly efficient wood chip boiler radiating hot water through a closed system.
